Who voices the characters in the Netflix show?

After a long wait, Mech Cadets is finally streaming on Netflix. The 10-episode first season dropped on Aug. 10, and people immediately stopped what they were doing to binge-watch the new series. As of Aug. 14, the show is currently sitting at the No. 5 spot on Netflix’s top 10 TV shows list, so I’d say it’s doing pretty well for itself.

Back in May 2021, Netflix announced that Mech Cadets had been greenlit. It was revealed that the kid animated series would be executive produced by Boom! Studios, Polygon Pictures Inc., and Aaron Lam. Lam also served as head writer, while Tohru Patrick Awa served as the supervising director.

The show is based on the bestselling comic book series Mech Cadet Yu from Boom! Studios by writer Greg Pak and artist Takeshi Miyazawa. It’s set 50 years in the future after a terrifying alien species attacked planet Earth.

Teenager Stanford Yu works as a janitor at the Sky Corps Military Academy and dreams of one day piloting a giant robot called a Robo Mech. A Robo Mech is a giant robot from outer space who comes to humans’ rescue when needed. After a Robo Mech bonds with Stanford instead of one of the properly trained cadets, Stanford’s dream finally comes true. But now he has to prove himself and earn the respect of the other cadets. With an alien invasion going on, Stanford and his classmates must put aside the problems they have with one another to team up and fight.

Stanford is a determined teenage underdog working as a janitor at the Sky Corps Military Academy. He’s waiting for the day that he’s able to pilot a Robo Mech.

Dolly is the head honcho in charge of the janitorial team at the Sky Corps Military Academy. She’s also Stanford’s loving and overprotective mother.

General Park is the leader of the Sky Corps Academy and the Mech Cadet program. He expects only the best from his cadet team and will do everything in his power to make sure of that.

Chief Max is the head of Engineering at Sky Corps Military Academy and a former Robo pilot. She’s also a mentor to all the trainees.
